Hi Susan,

Have you thought about trying, "House Hushing?" Ever since we "hushed" our kitchen, I had wanted to try it on the boys' bedroom too!

"House hushing" is all about taking everything out of a room and then slowly putting back ONLY the essentials. It helps us see how peaceful and clutter-free a space can be, and makes us more mindful about what we really need.

Once their room was completely empty, we gave it a good clean and took a moment to enjoy the quiet and simplicity. The boys didn't miss anything. They loved their new, simplified room—more space to play, less distraction, and a peaceful feeling that we hadn’t had in awhile.

We lived with the empty room for a few days, letting the boys experience the calm and extra space. When it was time to put things back, we started putting back only the things that were necessary or that they really loved. To our surprise, we ended up adding very few items back.

The change was great and just the reset we all needed. Not only did the boys enjoy their simplified space, but we also noticed they started playing in their room again. And they can easily find the things they love and enjoy.

I encourage you to try "house hushing" in your own home. Start with one room and see how it feels to live without the clutter. It is amazing what a fresh perspective that this provides!
